Waste chemicals
Changes in specific gravity, material composition, temperature, or pressure can have adverse effects on RF and Differential Pressure transmitters. SOR, Inc. Magnetostrictive Transmitters are virtually immune to these effects.

Hydrocarbon/Water separation (continuous level)
SOR, Inc. Magnetostrictive Float Transmitters are ideal for accurate measurement of liquid-liquid interfaces. They can measure both level and interface and are not affected by changing dielectric constants near the interface. They are preferable to Displacer Transmitters which either measure level or interface, not both.

Storage vessels
Level measurement in hydrocarbon storage tanks usually requires a high degree of accuracy. These tanks are frequently large (over 20 feet) and temperature changes affect actual levels due to changes in vapor density. In addition, they tend to accumulate water, affecting the surface height of the fluid. SOR, Inc. Magnetostrictive Transmitters can simultaneously measure the hydrocarbon and the water level, to determine the actual level of the hydrocarbon.
