Digester capping valve control
SOR, Inc. Pressure Switches monitor the pressure in the pulp digester operating at pressures and temperatures to 150 psi and 350°F. At the conclusion of the "blow-down" cycle, the switch reacts to pressures less than 1 psi, enabling the capping valve to open and introduce product for a new cooking cycle.

Boiler water circulation
SOR, Inc. High-Static Differential Pressure Switches monitor the pressure drop across pump headers in higher efficiency, controlled-circulation boiler systems operating at static pressures approaching 3000 psi. The differential pressure switch reacts to pressure drops less than 15 psid to protect the boiler system from damage due to loss of water flow.

Well head shut-in
SOR, Inc. Sub Mini Hermet Pressure Switches monitor availability of hydraulic pressure for shut-in valves on offshore oil platforms to verify that the valve actuators have power to operate if called upon. Compact for high-density mounting, the Sub Mini Hermet's corrosion resistant construction, hermetically sealed contacts and explosion proof design is ideally suited for the harsh offshore environment.

Reactor vessel alarm
SOR, Inc. Pressure Switches monitor vessel pressure in a high-pressure polymerization reactor to alarm operators in the event of an unstable reaction, possibly due to equipment or instrument failure. If the operator is unable to clear the problem, a second high-high pressure switch installed initiates an orderly emergency shutdown sequence.

Pump suction/discharge monitor
SOR, Inc. Pressure Switches monitor pump suction/discharge pressures to prevent damage due to cavitation on loss of inlet fluid or overheating due to downstream blockages.
