Mechanical Engineer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate sales special customer requirements.
  • Modify existing designs to meet customer requests.
  • Performs calculations for buoyancy systems for items such as floats and displacers.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret standards (ANSI, ASME, NACE, etc.) and their application to design requirements
  • Troubleshoot production related problems.
  • Evaluate standard operating procedures and processes for correction and improvement.
  • Evaluate machine part tolerances for acceptability.
  • Identify and find special materials, purchased assemblies, and processes.
  • Interface with sales for product specific questions.
  • Interface with production for assembly specific questions.
  • Perform costing on special assemblies and processes.
  • Create build specific information for production (bill of materials, bill of operations, work instructions).
  • Responsible for proposing cost reduction ideas.
  • All other functions/responsibilities assigned by the VP of Engineering.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering a plus but not required.
  • Minimum 3 + years relevant experience specific with floats and displacers.
  • Oil and Gas Industry Experience preferred
  • Power Experience is plus

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • High level of process instrumentation product knowledge (primarily displacer, float, chambers, and interface applications)
  • Problem solving
  • Superior communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • Detail oriented
