CNC Machinist
- Reports to Director of Operations
SUMMARY
CNC Operator sets up, operates, and maintains the CNC Lathe machines
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED
- 1 – 3 years related experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

- Entry level requirements
- Basic understanding of CNC machine language/codes.
- Read drawings.
- Must be able to interpret or identify correct bill of material.
- Adhere to guidelines and procedures as defined.
- Work from a bill of material (BOM) and bill of operations (BOO)
- Perform inspection of workpiece using gauge equipment
- Routine maintenance of machine tool
- Perform necessary duties using manual equipment.
Level 2 CNC machinist
- Tooling knowledge and maintenance
- Knowledge of various types of raw materials
- Identify problems with tooling, machine function, and raw materials.
- Able to perform setup of machine tool from process instructions.
- Capable of inspection and validation of first piece
- Ability to adjust or modify CNC programming as needed.
- Be familiar with the principles and techniques associated with Lean Manufacturing
- All other functions/responsibilities assigned by the manager.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Level 3 CNC machinist
- Capable of development and implementation of CNC machining process. IE CNC programming, process tooling, work holding, process documentation, and first article validation.
- Full competency in lathe and multi axis
- Understanding of automation in conjunction with machining.

Mechanical QA Inspector
- Reports to Director of Quality
SUMMARY
- Maintains quality standards by evaluating incoming items, in-process production, finished products and recording/reporting results. Verifies that parts and assemblies used to manufacture SOR products conform to the design specifications. This position requires certification to ASNT-TC-1A to perform visual and NDT level II inspection methods of welded assemblies to verify they meet the code requirements. Uses office equipment such as personal computer/software, copiers, etc. in completion of job tasks.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in gage calibration, MIG welding, or NDE processes with mechanical inspection background, considered a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspects bar stock, pipe, flanges, and fittings for compliance.
- Performs mechanical inspections using tools, machines, and test fixtures such as: optical comparator, microscope, Rockwell Hardness Tester, Profilometer, and Alloy Analyzer.
- Reviews Certified Material Test Reports for authenticity, applicability, and traceability (heat codes).
- Compiles and distributes SOR certificates: mill test reports, NACE Certificate, magnetic particle certificate, certificate of compliance, certificate of conformance, liquid penetrant certification,
- After the unit is welded, verifies that all required N.D.E. is satisfactorily
- Verifies all vertical, horizontal, and angular
- Verifies flange finish and dimensions.
- Visually inspects welds, and cleaning.
- Performs final inspection, check tags, part number, switches, and documentation.
- Participates in third party inspection activities as required.
- All other functions/responsibilities assigned by manager.
- Complies with all policies and standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Must pass annual eye examination, to prove near vision acuity in at least one eye is capable of reading a minimum of Jaeger Number 2 or equivalent type and size letter at the distance designated on the chart but not less than 12” with or without correction. Shall take a color contrast differentiation test. The exam should demonstrate the capability of distinguishing and differentiating contrast among colors or shades of gray used in the method as determined by the employer. Color perception is desirable in some specific applications but is not considered essential for all examinations. The contrast differentiation to be conducted upon initial certification and at five year intervals thereafter. It shall be the employer’s responsibility to establish and enforce visual requirements for those in his/her
- Eye examinations shall be administered by an Ophthalmologist, Optometrist, Medical Doctor, Registered Nurse, Certified Physician’s Assistant, or by other ophthalmic medical personnel.

PRO E/CAD Designer
- Reports to Engineering Manager
SUMMARY
- Under the direction and supervision of the VP of Engineering, adheres to the policies and procedures of SOR, Inc. and to the guidelines and procedures as prescribed by ISO 9001. Primary function is to support the engineering staff in the preparation and release of documentation for new products and changes to existing designs for manufacturing. Performs related tasks to support other departments as needed and cooperates to establish close working relationships with co-workers of all departments. Utilizes engineering CAD software and the company’s business system software to complete job tasks. Attends meetings and in services. Works hours required to meet project deadlines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school education plus additional training equals two years college specializing in industrial manufacturing design/drafting.
- Minimum of three years’ experience working with engineers in the development, documentation, and introduction of new products into the manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical – Three years of CAD solids modeling. Preferably Pro/Engineer and PTC Windchill.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates preliminary and final production drawings of machined parts, castings, and assemblies with input from engineering staff. Uses various industrial standards, studies data from numerous sources and utilizes knowledge of drafting practices and mathematics to complete the drawings.
- Prepares documentation of special product as required by the customer from data supplied by Sales/Marketing and with input from engineering staff.
- Collaborates with the necessary organizational functions to organize and set-up product assembly and sub assembly levels for BOM structure.
- Creates and maintains the product configurator, bills-of-material, and part master file records so that proper inventory allocation / relief and accurate product costing can occur.
- Coordinates, organizes, and prepares documentation of engineering orders for new product designs and changes to existing products.
- Checks and reviews final engineering orders for accuracy and completeness and that they are in compliance with design input specifications.
- Creates drawings for product catalogs and technical data sheets.
- Adheres to guidelines and procedures as prescribed by ISO 9001.
- Adheres to safety measures and other personnel policies.
- Performs additional related tasks as necessary in supporting the SOR products.

Welder
- Reports to Focus Factory Manager
SUMMARY
- The position of Welder/Fitter is to provide a quality-welded product using (GMAW and GTAW) welding processes to achieve code qualified welds. Position includes programmable lathe welding.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED
- 5 plus years’ experience needed with pressure vessel experience a plus.
- Qualified on MIG and TIG processes for carbon and stainless steel and weld to Xray quality.
- Basic Machinist skills preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate knowledge of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) principles and practices.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) principles and practices.
- Demonstrate the basic knowledge of Oxy-Acetylene set-up.
- Interpret written welding procedures.
- Interpret and fabricate parts from drawings and welding symbols.
- Demonstrate Safe behavior and techniques for storing and handling cylinders.
- Demonstrate the proper use of Equipment.
- Demonstrate compliance to equipment preventative maintenance (PM) program.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Welding Inspection and testing principles and practices.
- Basic welding knowledge of carbon steel and stainless-steel material.
