(Houston, Texas, USA – April 12, 2018) SENSOR Sampling Systems takes two needles and combines them into one with the new CONCENTRIC Needle System. Essentially two different sized needles are combined into one concentric combination (one within the other). Process liquid travels through the inner needle into the bottle and the vapors are vented back through the annulus between the two needles.
Standard bottle systems from SENSOR utilize one process needle for filling the bottle and another separate needle for venting it. The needles, in combination with a bottle, cap and septum, provide for the “Closed-Loop” design of the sample system.
“The downside of utilizing two needles is that twisting of the bottle or inserting through a small cap hole can cause the vent needle to bend or break. The benefit of the CONCENTRIC needle is only one needle performs the function of two which improves reliability in the field and eliminates damage to the vent needle,” says SENSOR Sampling System(opens in a new tab) Product Manager, Billy Terry.
SENSOR closed loop Sampling Systems are specially designed and manufactured for the chemical hydrocarbon processing industry to mitigate potential hazards that exist with extracting representative grab samples. They are designed and constructed to meet the industry requirements for environmental and emissions standards. Manufactured in Houston, the heart of the industrial Gulf Coast in Texas, Sampling Systems are required to manage quality, yield and other important aspects of chemical and hydrocarbon processes.
